Great to read your Grandmother is still doing great! It’s a lovely song!

I’m working for a Flemish televions company, ‘DeMensen’ and we’re thinking about doing a little interview with your grandmother.

Strange? Just a little, maybe. I’ll explain why:

We are developing a talkshow called ‘Villa Vanthilt.’ It will be broadcasted this summer on VRT, flemish public television. Two flemish cities, Roeselare and Dendermonde will host the show. There will be a daily “rendez-vous with history” and we found a lovely article in a local newspaper about Adamo and your grandmother, way back in the 1960′s! That’s how I got here.

We picked up a copy in a Barcelona record shop about 6 or 7 years ago. I remember playing it on their little record deck to see if it was worth buying – and it most definitely was.

There’s something in the production that really reminds me of a lot of Petula Clark’s French songs, especially Les James Dean. But the voice as you say is straight from the Eartha Kitt/Shirley Bassey soul school.
